Today, I read an article about the administration error that happened in Samoa. The article says that Mr. Agafili stayed in a prison for five years more than he was supposed to do due to the administration error. Even though he was sentenced to serve for seven years, he was not informed of the exact period to be incarcerated and no one in the prison told him about that; thus he had to live five years longer in jail. After reading this article, I was really surprised by the fact that this incredible incident occurred in this world. Due to someone's mistake, a person spent his life for five years behind bars. Can a government compensate for this mistake? Then how?
